Turnover of industry and services – April 2024

In April, estimates for seasonally adjusted turnover index increased by 0.8% both in value and volume in the month on month series (+1.6% in value and +1.3% in volume in the domestic market and -0.6% in value and -0.3% in volume in the non domestic market).

In April, estimates for seasonally adjusted turnover index for Total services increased in the month on month series in value by 2.3% and in volume by 2.2%.

Over the three months leading to April 2024, the seasonally adjusted industry turnover decreased in both value (-1.6%) and volume (-1.3%) when compared with the previous three-month period. In services, turnover increased in value by 0.8% and by 0.6% in volume.

On a year-on-year basis, in April 2024, the calendar adjusted industry turnover index contracted in value (-2.0%) and increased in volume (+0.5% in volume), marking a 1.7% decrease in the domestic market (+0.9% in volume) and a 2.5% decrease (-0.1% in volume) in the non-domestic market. Calendar working days in April 2024 were 20, two more than April 2023.

In services, when compared with the same month a year earlier, turnover increased by 5.7% in value and 4.9% in volume.
