Turnover in services

The Services Turnover Index measures the quarterly change recorded in sales at current prices by enterprises belonging to the domain of services. Starting from the first quarter of 2013 the indices are calculated with reference to the base year 2010 using the Ateco 2007 classification (Italian edition of Nace Rev. 2).

In the third quarter of 2013 the Services Turnover Index decreases by 0.9%.

Compared to the third quarter of 2012 a decrease is recorded in Water transport (-5.4%), Information and communication services (-4.7%), Air transport (-3.0%), Accomodation and food service activities (-2.3%), Postal and courier activities (-1.4%) and Wholesale trade (-1.1%). Increases are recorded in Trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (+2.5%), Transport and Warehousing activities (+2.1%) and Land transport (+1.7%).

In the third quarter of 2013 the seasonally adjusted index increases in Wholesale trade (+0.4%), Maintenance and repair of motor vehicles (+0.3%), Air transport and Postal and courier activities (both +0.1%), while the index is decreasing in Water transport (-1.3%) and in Information and communication services (-0.2%).
